  1. I say release the new series this fall…in fact why not release 10-12 new episodes every year…if you need help carrying gear let me know :)

  2. WOW! They drop the bag off at the police station? I`m not sure how to take that. Hey the trips not all lost they have the camera, money, and visas. But! They were nice enough to return my extra pair of skivvies and rain jacket. If caught, I wonder if they get time off their sentence for returning the leftovers?

  3. P.S. Hands down, Bernini`s Apollo and Daphne is my favorite sculpture. Followed closely by The Rape of Proserpina. I`m a Bernini fan what can I say.

  4. Rome deserves a kick in the pants for its terrible reputation involving pick pockets. How? Don`t go.

  5. So excited to see your show with the Borghese…that statue was the most amazing I`ve seen. Thanks for the pics Rick

  6. What is up with that comment about the Gypsies? That`s really narrow-minded and offensive. There are plenty of thieves of all cultural backgrounds in Europe, and not all Roma (as they are properly called) are thieves. You ought to know better.

  7. it is a shame about the pickpocketing and purse snatching in many large european cities, but at least you won`t be beaten, stabbed, or shot while being mugged as in many american cities!! there is far less major crime in europe. btw, a few years ago, i was on bus 64 in rome and realized the young (14-15) girl behind me had her hand in my purse-under a flap and in a zipped compartment! when i grabbed her hand and said “N0” she simply smiled, pulled away, and exited the bus. All she would have gotten though was my guide book or bottle of water because having been forewarned by Rick and others, i had my moneybelt on with all my money and passport in it. it is easy to take those precautions to be safe, but many people seem to feel it is too much trouble, then complain about being a victim. you must use the same precautions you would if traveling in new york, chicago, or any big city. thanks rick for all the wonderful images and information you share with us. my friends on our last trip to spain teased me about always saying “well Rick says…”!
