Up, Up, and Away in a Beautiful Turkish Balloon

Arguably the best hot-air balloon experience in the world is reason enough to get up at 4:30 and spend $200 each for a morning floating above the “fairy chimney” rock formations of Cappadocia. Each morning, 50 to 80 balloons lift off, giving lots of travelers a fine memory.

  1. That`s a lotta lire for Turkey. I suspect the Turks believe the US is super rich but only about one and a half million really are.

  2. Rick – I agree! I`ve seen pictures in past scrap book entries and would make sure this was something I did while on tour in Turkey.

  3. Looks like great fun. Hope you got some video for your TV show. I was wondering how long the ride lasts, 2 hours, 3 hours? Is a lunch after touchdown included?

  4. `Ride` lasts 45-60 minutes, no lunch, but champagne toast afterwards – or in our case, cherry juice for most of the glass, topped off with champagne; also had slice of cake to eat to tide us over until return to breakfast.
