Dancing Frenzy with the Villagers

I have great memories of dancing with Turks as a teenager in my earliest visits. I remember it was a natural way to inject joy into a convivial get-together. And now, Rick Steves Turkey tours always seem to find a way to dance with the locals.

  1. It`s good to have fun. It usually takes about a week plus some alcohol and music to inspire it whether it`s Turkey or Outward Bound.

  2. I love the inviting, non-judgmental atmosphere. It`s too bad that America isn`t more like this. If you want to dance or sing here, and you`re not at a concert or nightclub, people look at you funny, laugh, or make comments. We`re open in other ways, surely, but I feel we`re a bit too focused on appearing “cool” instead of just going with the flow.

  3. The video clips were fun at first, but I miss your travel writing! Please start writing again!
