The Irish Are the Italians of Europe’s North?

Taking a lunch break with my guide Andrea in Levanto, the first town west of the Cinque Terre, the conversation turns from dessert wine and biscotti to how the Irish are the Italians of Europe’s north.

  1. Been to both places and I never thought of it that way. I do know that when I have been in Germany I am very Italian looking and I don`t think the Germans like me. I was at the Frankfurt airport and tried to sit next to two German women, who told me the seats were taken, so I moved on, my husband comes along who is German/Irish/Norweigen and they practically rolled out the red carpet for him

  2. im full blooded irish here in america and i can totally see the correlation! it made me laugh so hard! my uncle married a gal from sicily (we all live in california now) and it is no wonder why our irish family and her sicilian family get along so well.
