My Radical App is Here: Rick Steves Audio Europe

I’m excited to announce the release of my new app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch ‘ Rick Steves Audio Europe™. It organizes my vast library of audio files ‘ self-guided tours and radio interviews ‘ into country-specific playlists covering all of Europe. Over a year in the making, this free tool is impressive not in its complexity but in its simplicity. It doesn’t rob your attention forcing you to look at a little screen. It makes you smart as you look directly at, and become immersed in, the artistic and cultural wonders of Europe. I can’t tell you how this new tool thrills the tour guide in me. It’s so easy your grandmother can use it. The files live on your mobile device so you can listen to it anywhere, any time with no roaming charges. And it’s free.

Rick Steves Audio Europe will save you hundreds of dollars in guided tour expenses. It’ll save you lots of time. And it’ll make your sightseeing both fun and meaningful. Learn more by watching my video demo and then download the app from the App Store. You can learn more on my website at www.ricksteves.com/audioeurope. Don’t let your friends go to Europe without it.

And fear not! We’re busily working on an Android version. Stay tuned…it’s on its way.

Happier travels!

  1. I think this is a great thing. When we have been in a city with a lot of museums and history to see, you can really get nickeled and dimed to death renting all the audio or taking a tour with a guide. And a lot of time you just would like more detail than reading the signs. I know in Dublin last year the museums where stock full of info that I hadn`t expected.

  2. don`t wait to long on the android version, i`ve been asking for 2 years now for android versions and none have yet to come through. you have to download the tours as regular files, not sure if he is going to do that with these as he has with others in the past

  3. One thing we all know. When you open a Print guide book, the printed page Will be there.

  4. I love the app on Iphone. I`m not traveling to Europe anytime soon but so enjoyed listening to places I had already been and remembering the delight I experienced while I was there. I`ve already downloaded for my next dream trip to Europe.

  5. I can`t believe this is free, I would pay $5-10 at least for the quality of organization and info on this app. Cheers to you, Rick.

  6. I also can`t believe this is free… wow, talk about making an impression on your audience. I just need to buy an iphone now. ;)

  7. Do we have any ball park time frames for the android version? We travel in June and I`m sooo hoping its out by then.

  8. Thank you Rick! Looking forward to using it, along with your DVD`s and travel gear that we already have.
