My First Post-Flood Stroll Down Vernazza’s Main Street

For me, walking through Vernazza, six months to the day after its flood, was like seeing an old friend who had changed dramatically. But the magic is still there, and the promise of a town put back together is strong. Viva Vernazza…Vernazza lives.

If you can’t see the video below, watch it on YouTube.

  1. Happy to see that there is some great hope here. Am so glad we got to see all the towns before this happened. It just seems like this will take years to rebuild. Wish I could take a trip, your little video’s make me want to go!

  2. I didn’t watch the video but I often wonder if some of these tragic events help improve a place.
Merchants may try harder, places that were decrepit are updated, marketing is improved, customers are more tolerant, etc. etc. Maybe all of us could use a kick in the pants at some time in our lives (not that we deserve it of course.)

  3. Love the beard, Rick.

To the person who commented that disasters like this are a beneficial kick in the pants: you are a complete and utter moron. I can only hope that karma destroys your life, so you can enjoy such improvement.
