Europe Meets Mexico in Edmonds

We just hosted our annual tour guide summit here in Seattle. After a long day of tour itinerary workshops, we took our European guides out for Mexican food and music. Mexican cuisine is far more interesting to a European than to an American eater. To get 50 or so professional guides from a dozen different countries wearing sombreros and dancing to “La Bamba” with no tour members in sight made for a very enjoyable evening.

  1. Europeans are experts and know better how to enjoy life. And talking about food and music and warm weather, beaches, traditions and folklore, and so ando so, Mexico is very, very rich; and if you visit the Peninsula of Yucatan, you will find people with deep, deep roots, in this American Continent.

  2. Looks like fun! I would love to hear about the impression of Mexican culture by the guides from different countries. Europe has changed so much, we use to go to a country and all you would eat for two weeks was the cultural foods and get pretty sick of it by the end. But now we eat so many kinds of foods in every European country.

  3. For years my husband has insisted on trying to find good Mexican food while traveling overseas (from CA). It`s usually been a disaster with regards to the food, but lead to some interesting discoveries & insights into how other cultures perceive this complex cuisine. It has also provided one of our favorite travel catchphrases…Mexican food in Dublin is better than pizza in Cordoba :) Happy Travels. http://nophotos-joan.blogspot.com/

  4. I have enjoyed your shows, until I saw the one on Norway. The commercial you did for Norwegian Solcialism has totally turned me off. To say that Norwegians worship good government and not God shows where you and PBS are. I refuse to support either one and I would support the cutting off of all public funds for PBS. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!
