For my vacation this year, I signed up for the Rick Steves Best of Turkey tour. My group didn’t know I’d be on their tour, and I just showed up on the third day. After the initial surprise, within hours I was just one of the tour members, ready to experience a great country with a great group and a great guide. In this clip, we’ve just gotten off of the night train to Ankara, and make our way (some of us more bright-eyed and bushy-tailed than others) to our awaiting tour bus.
If you can’t see the video below, watch it on YouTube.

Boy o boy. You got a look at a tour group after a night on a train. Rick chirped well – and he must. Mimi was bright- eyed and she must. Jeff was upbeat and no partner nearby. As for the rest of us, get that camera out of my face, ok? These folks may or may not have been pleased to have RS along. Did they get a rebate for promotional services?
This is my first time to check your blog & am VERY excited to know I can keep up w/your travels. Have watched EVERY trip that has been shown on our local PBS station..OPB in Oregon. Thank You for all the trips I`ve been able to go along on..through video. Wouldn`t be able to physically do the traveling but w/my donation to OPB I get to SEE the world thru you. Keep up the great work.
I`m with b – I`d be seriously, seriously annoyed to have some guy with a video camera along on my tour posting the footage on YouTube. Having RS along minus camera – cool. Having RS plus camera – infuriating. Ever heard of privacy?
